AEH AEI AEJ Series · R069

Find the cutting diameter, flute length and overall length needed for aluminium machining. AXIMET’s AEH, AEI and AEJ catalogue models bring three-flute options together for distributors and industrial tooling buyers.
An aluminium end mill has to fit the part as well as the holder. When extra tool length is needed, compare the entire cutter-and-holder assembly with the available clearance. Overall length alone does not guarantee that the cutter will reach a particular cavity.
The catalogue lists 18 models in the AEH, AEI and AEJ long-shank group. Each model has its own diameter, flute length, overall length, shank diameter and flute count. Read the dimension drawing together with the model table when comparing options.
For a distributor assortment, give the quantity beside each model number. If you are replacing an existing tool, include its drawing or dimensional reference and review the complete row rather than ordering on nominal diameter alone.
Cutting diameter must suit the slot width, pocket access and planned path. Flute length describes the cutting section; it is not the same dimension as overall length. Overall length affects the space available for clamping and access. Shank diameter must match the toolholder's clamping size.
Consider the assembled projection, the holder position and any clamps or surrounding walls. A replacement order should identify both the required projection from the holder and the clamping length available; a catalogue overall length alone does not establish either dimension in an assembled tool. Choose the shortest suitable projection for the job, subject to the part and holder requirements. Longer tools can be more sensitive to deflection, so review the setup and cutting conditions with the actual machine and workpiece.
For slots and pockets, identify the material grade, feature width and depth, and whether the cutter is fully engaged or approaching from an open side. For shoulders, specify wall height and the clearance required around the holder. Chip evacuation and the toolpath should be assessed together rather than choosing on flute count alone.
Where a customer needs a shorter or different profile, compare the relevant tool drawing before substituting. A long-shank cutter and a relieved-neck cutter address different dimensions of an access problem; check the geometry shown for the selected model rather than treating the terms as interchangeable or assuming a relieved neck is present.
Send the model, quantity per size, workpiece material, operation and holder details. Include your drawing revision and any packaging, labeling or sample requirements in the RFQ. For repeat orders, retain the approved model and agreed dimensions alongside the purchase record.
For sample evaluation, identify the cutter dimensions, holder fit and machining application against the drawing. Keep the accepted drawing revision with the purchase order so your team can identify the same tool on a repeat order.

Select an AEH, AEI or AEJ model using the listed lengths and shank diameter alongside your holder and access requirements.

It is selected for aluminium machining when the required cutter and holder arrangement calls for additional overall tool length. The model still has to suit the feature and available clearance.
Compare the assembled tool and holder with the part drawing. Overall length includes the shank and does not establish how far the cutting end can enter a feature.
Give the cutting diameter, flute length, overall length, shank diameter and flute count, together with the catalogue model if known. Add the feature depth and holder requirements when access is important.
The AEH, AEI and AEJ group is listed as three-flute. Confirm the selected model and its dimensions in the catalogue table before ordering.
Only after checking the shank, cutting section, overall length and machine clearance. A longer tool can change the clamping arrangement and cutting conditions.
Send model numbers and quantities, aluminium grade, machining task, machine and holder details, and any drawing, packaging or sample requirements.
