M35 Spiral Flute Tap for Aluminium

Source the aluminium-focused M35 series without confusing tool grade with thread size.

This aluminium-focused spiral flute tap series uses M35 cobalt high-speed steel and covers seven metric combinations from M3 × 0.5 to M12 × 1.75. It is a separate choice for buyers whose workpiece is an aluminium alloy, rather than a general mixed-material tap assortment.

  • M35 cobalt high-speed steel.
  • Spiral flute profile for aluminium chip evacuation.
  • Listed sizes: M3 × 0.5 to M12 × 1.75.
  • Listed overall lengths: 46–82 mm.

Sizes, Dimensions & Drive Interface

Dimensions are in millimetres except thread designations, drive labels and lead counts. Read each column with the dimension reference below.

Match pilot-hole preparation to the thread system, workpiece and agreed acceptance requirement.

Overall lengths run from 46 to 82 mm. The M6 × 1.0 item has L 62 mm, Lc 19 mm, d 6 mm and k 4.5 mm; do not substitute the general M6 spiral flute item without comparing reach and cutting length.

Application, Chip Path & Selection Limits

Match the component and operation

The spiral flute form helps carry aluminium chips towards the entrance. State the exact alloy and condition, drilled-hole depth and full-thread requirement when reviewing a blind-hole application.

Check the operating boundary

M35 identifies the tool material grade; it is not an M35 thread designation in this range. The listed size range stops at M12. Surface colour alone does not establish a coating or a particular aluminium machining result.

Compare the Adjacent Product Families

Product familySelection boundary to review
HSS Metric Spiral Flute Machine TapGeneral metric return-chip spiral flute series for blind-hole selection; retain the published dimensions.
HSS-Co Metric Thread Forming TapSpecify a forming-hole diameter before treating chipless threading as a cutting-tap replacement.
DIN 371 HSS Spiral Flute Machine TapChoose a DIN 371 blind-hole tool using both flute form and reinforced-shank dimensions.

Keep the selected family, thread designation and dimensional reference together. Shared nominal sizes or drive shapes do not establish interchangeability.

Workshop, Material Handling & Order Organisation

An aluminium-focused assortment needs the M35 tool-material requirement tied to the actual alloy enquiry. Use the supplied workshop views to discuss the reference item and order organisation without treating product appearance as a material certificate.

Storage racks and machine area

For aluminium-series packs, separate the M35 material description from the metric thread designation. Send the desired individual or mixed-size contents for review; similar silver views are not separate pack components.

Bar-stock handling

Carry the M35 cobalt high-speed steel requirement with the item drawing when discussing material preparation for this range.

Component feed and transfer

Keep the approved item identity and dimensional revision with components during order discussions. Use the exact thread and drive dimensions to distinguish similar tools.

Plan the order around the approved item

  1. Define the thread and application using this product’s selection table.
  2. Compare the tool interface and cutting geometry with the sample or drawing.
  3. Agree sample acceptance, quantities by size and the requested pack arrangement.
  4. Reference the same approved item and revision for replenishment.

Quality Review for the Selected Specification

Link the M35 material requirement to the approved sample and purchasing specification. Review flute condition, thread dimensions and holder fit for the aluminium job, with the required surface treatment specified separately.

Packaging, Custom Requests & Bulk Purchasing

Keep the packing brief specific

Build an aluminium assortment around alloy requirements and the seven actual size-and-pitch combinations. Keep M35 in the tool-material field and the metric designation in the thread field, then identify pack quantities and customer marking requests separately.

Marking, packs & repeat orders

For aluminium-series packs, separate the M35 material description from the metric thread designation. Send the desired individual or mixed-size contents for review; similar silver views are not separate pack components.

Product Questions

What does M35 mean on an aluminium tap?

Here M35 is the cobalt high-speed steel grade. The thread sizes are M3 to M12, as listed individually in the table.

Is this the same as the general metric spiral flute series?

No. This page is the M35 aluminium-focused range with its own dimensions. For example, its M6 overall length is 62 mm, compared with 66 mm in the general series.

Can I select it for any aluminium alloy?

Send the alloy and condition first. Chip behaviour and the required thread depth still need to be matched to the actual application; aluminium alone does not define operating conditions.

Do the three silver product views represent a three-piece set?

No. Similar appearance photographs do not establish a set or separate finishes. Order the individual thread sizes and quantities required.

What is the largest thread listed in this series?

M12 × 1.75, with 82 mm overall length and 29 mm cutting length. Do not infer larger aluminium-specific sizes from other tap ranges.

What should an aluminium tap RFQ include?

Specify alloy, hole type, drilled and threaded depths, thread/pitch, holder dimensions and quantity. Identify M35 material and any surface or packaging requirement for review.
