KRB Series · R079

Choose a corner radius end mill for titanium by the diameter, outer corner radius and tool length your customer needs. The KRB series combines a nominally flat cutting end with rounded corners and four flutes, with dimensions listed by model.
Two corner radius cutters can share a cutting diameter and still produce different transitions. Use the part drawing and toolpath to select the radius, then check cutting length and holder clearance for the feature.
The catalog lists 27 KRB models. Each model row provides cutting diameter, corner radius, flute length, overall length, shank diameter and flute count. Use the series drawing and the relevant row together when assembling a quotation.
For a distributor assortment, list diameter and corner radius as separate fields. Two cutters with the same diameter can have different corner radii; an order that omits R may identify the wrong profile. A customer asking for a replacement needs the correct corner geometry as well as a compatible holder; diameter alone does not identify the full tool.
Corner radius: Compare the specified cutter corner with the transition required on the part drawing. The programmed path and machining allowance also affect the finished shape.
Cutting diameter: Check the cutter against the pocket, slot or shoulder geometry. Ensure the tool can enter the feature and follow the intended path without interference.
Flute length: Compare the fluted section with the planned axial engagement. It is a tool dimension, not a stand-alone guarantee that a deep cavity can be reached.
Shank and overall length: Match the shank to the holder, then check assembled projection and available machine clearance. Include fixture details when space around the workpiece is restricted.
Identify the titanium grade and material condition, the machining operation and the target feature. Shoulder milling, an open pocket and a recessed feature can place different demands on access, engagement and chip evacuation. Include the machine, holder and coolant arrangement when requesting a model review.
The radius marked on the cutter is a tool dimension; it does not by itself guarantee the finished part radius or tolerance. If the transition matters to the component, provide the drawing, tolerances and programmed operation for review. Record the selected tool model and the customer’s approved drawing revision for replacement and repeat orders.
A corner radius end mill has a nominally flat end with rounded outer corners. A ball nose cutter has a rounded end profile across the cutting tip, while a square-end cutter has a nominally square corner. These are different geometries; compare the part requirement and toolpath before substituting one for another.
Send the KRB model codes and quantities, or provide the cutting diameter, radius, flute length, overall length and shank diameter. Include any requirements for sample review, dimensional checks, marking or packaging in the inquiry so they can be discussed for the selected order.
For another titanium feature profile, compare the square end mill for titanium and ball nose end mill for titanium.

Check the KRB cutter diameter and corner radius together with the remaining dimensions shown for each model.

It is an option for features where a radiused transition at the cutter corner suits the planned toolpath. Select the model using the part drawing, material and machine setup.
No. The KRB corner radius describes the cutter geometry. Compare it with the component drawing and programmed toolpath; the finished feature also depends on the machining setup and process.
Cutters with the same diameter may have different corner radii. Diameter and R together identify the geometry to compare with the part drawing and program.
The catalog identifies the KRB series as four-flute. Check the individual row for its diameter, radius and lengths.
Compare the cutter diameter and corner radius with the part drawing, then review flute length, holder projection and side clearance. Flute length alone does not establish the maximum accessible depth.
